An authentic and discrete creole house of four bedrooms welcomes you.
This house has as much character as her landlord. Cosy bedrooms, a few with seaview. As it is close to the airport, Villa Chantemer is good as first or last day for independant travelers. Those who wish to discover another aspect of Mauritius may choose to stay longer, as some repeated customers have been doing for years.
Location
Situated on the South East Coast, offering one of the best views of the lagoon. Villa Chantemer is close enough to the airport but without the noise. Activities around the establishment (restaurants for example) are limited. The East Coast is rather windy (Afficionados of kite surf come here or else they go to Poste-Lafayette (East Coast), Cap Malheureux (North Coast) or Le Morne (South West Coast).
Atmoshpere
The owner, Indra, welcomes you to her cosy Creole house with its inviting veranda. A large tropical garden facing a magnificent stretch of beach add to the island feel of this charming 4 room establishment which is still a family residence.
Rooms
The rooms while spacious (except for the little room at 50€) and decorated in traditional Mauritian style , do not all feature air conditioning. The bathrooms with shower are simple but clean.
Activities
There are no activities on site.
Service
Once the owner has gotten to know you a little, you will find an attentive ear. A bed and breakfast; really giving you a feel of being at Indras home. A number of brochures of activities in the neighborhood are provided.
Food
Only breakfast is provided. The good qualtiy traditional breakfast is served on the veranda (outside terrace) and can also be an opportunity to meet other travelers. The restaurants in the region are limited for the other meals.
Cleanliness
A well maintained house.
Value for money
It is a good price for a Mauritian bed and breakfast; a nice and intimate place.
To point out...
The majority of the clients are repeat French customers. Breakfast is a good occasion to meet and talk to other travelers who often have traveled around the island and stayed at other bed and breakfasts.
