Chateau de Fere is a 4 star hotel set in countryside near Epernay, inthe Champagne area. The hotel is set in the former farm house quite close to the ruined Chateau, which was built in 1206 - 1260. The Chateau was built for the King as he travelled from Paris to Reims. The hotel is charming with comfortable rooms with lovely views. The hotel offers gastonomique cuisine but this was disappointing. Staff were extremely friendly and the sommelier offered a tour of the castles wine cellars which was very interesting and spooky.
