Perissia Hotel

great for families

We celebrated the 40th wedding anniversary of our parents so we were 17 of us including 6 kids.
The hotel is very big. The rooms wonderful.
This hotel is great for kids: big pools and slides. They often say that August is unbearably hot in Turkey but instead the wheather was great.
The hotel is exclusively 'All Inclusive' which didn't mean that the food quality was not good.
There was a big choice of à la carte restaurants so that you didn't have to eat always at the same buffet (which by the way was very good and offered a large choice and variation).
There were plenty activities on offer but we haven't participated a lot. The entertainment team was pleasant... not intrusive at all.
It was our first time in Turkey and we truly had a great time.

Pros

family orientated rooms pools with slides

Cons

having to 'book' your deck chairs at 7 in the morning with a towel. location: one hour transfer from the airport and also not on walking distance from city center.

How far is the hotel from the town of Side and how do you get there? If you can't walk, how much is a taxi drive and are there maybe also buses?

Posted by  travelinga - 13/05/08 distance to town - I'm not really sure anymore how far it is but I believe about 20 minutes by bus. There were small minibuses from the hotel going there which were payable but not expensive at all... sorry don't remember the price. There are also taxis which is more expensive than the bus but still affordable and you don't have to call a taxi, there are always some waiting in front of the hotel.
Well, have fun if you decide to go there! It really is great. Especially if you've got kids.
