Amari Boulevard

I stayed at at this hotel with my wife and we had a wonderful time. Smiles all over from the staff. We really felt very welcome. We had a room on the 24th floor which was very comfortable. The breakfast, although busy, is constantly refilled and of good quality. We met several managers who seem quiet keen to have everything perfect. We even saw the general manager coaching the front office staff, who by the way are very friendly and seem happy to work with him. It shows good leadership and we were very impressed. A home feeling and good service. We also had a nice dinner in a kind of tropical garden next to the pool. A lot of attention there too. Lots of greenery. We will definitely come back. Located at an unexciting part of Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok, the Amari Boulevard is an interestingly shaped triangular building providing standard rooms in a 3-4 star setting. It seems a shame that you could spend 10 - 15% more and be in a hotel that is luxurious Alternatively you could spend 20% less and be in a great guesthouse with bags of charm and intimacy. Facilities are available, gym, swimming pool but are generally uninspiring. Food is fairly awful but in Bangkok you could throw a stone and be guaranteed that it would hit a great street stall or restaurant (but please don't try this as you might get arrested - Bangkok Hilton anyone...?)

Too average - this is Bangkok and there are too many other interesting choices
