although a quite poor accomodation, this is probably the best place to stay in Sarakiniko: the common, airy patio overlook the bay, and we have not seen a single cochroach here in a whole week. rooms have a fridge and electric cooking facilities (very poor kitchenware), but the whole area (illegally built) is not connected to the power grid, so you'll have power only when noisy diesel generators are on.
the beach (not the best one in Gavdos), bar and tavernas (I counted 7) are only a 5 min. walk downhill, but take a torch with you at night, and be careful of the barbed wires.
The restaurant, managed by a rumenian couple (and they only speak rumenian), was not working at the time of our stay. Luckily, I guess.
Prosbeautiful wiew on sarakiniko bay and beach
Consnot suitable for families with small children: the beach and tavernas are hard to reach by foot, especially at night
