We spent two nights in the hotel. As soon as we arrived we went to have lunch in la terrace restaurant, and we where already wandering what is all the fuzz about this hotel. Looking from outside to the restaurant area you notice this bright blue metal cheap looking roof, it looked like a 2 stars greek hotel. You can see in many details and deco that this hotel is a bit dated. The rooms are not as big as other five star hotel on the island. We had to squeeze the cot on one side.
We had a room without a beach in front. A great number of rooms are situated on one side overlooking at the fresh water side of the lagoon and there is no beach but only boats from the boat house and the sea does not look good.
The food is ok but hugely overpriced. Breakfast was better than dinner, the oysters were dead and some of the food in the buffet should have been hot but it was cold, the tuna in the sushi was ok but looked a bit brown.
Service is good but do not give any difficult dresses to iron, it is money wasted. I had to return my dress and even the second time it was creased and clearly non ironed properly, infact i could not wear it in the evening.
The butler service was good and efficient, and the kids club and babysitters were good. The bed confortable, the linens and the cushions were extra luxury.
The beach, where there was a beach was nice and big and the service on the beach was excellent. The room itself grows on you and do not get me wrong i had two fantastic days, but i do think that that kind of hotel should be perfect in all aspects, and it wasn't.
