very good budget hotel

The tropical escape is a 3 star all inclusive hotel situated across the road from paynes bay, one of the west coasts most beautiful beaches. The hotel has 54 rooms, it is worth requesting a pool view room as the main coast road can get busy and it gets noisy for guests with road view rooms. The hotel owns blue monkey restaurant and bar, across on the beach, which is a great place to enjoy a cocktail while watching an amazing bajan sunset, guest recieve a voucher for 1 meal per week in the monkey, all other meals are taken in the parrott cafe,t the hotel food is very good, the alternate between ala carte and buffet eves with barbecue nights also. There are 2 bars, one at the poolside and the carnival bar, cocktails are brilliant and cold banks beer is very nice.Staff were really helpfull and friendly, our room waas clean, comfy and brightly decorated, had everything we needed. The holiday was excellent value, it isn't the nicest hotel I have stayed at in barbados, but for around 999 GBP pp all inclusive I rate it as extremley good value for money, and the island is easy to explore be it by hiring a car, mini moke or jumping on a reggae bus(my prefferred mode of transport)

Pros

location spot on,central for all the island has to offer, paynes bay over the road...great food.

Cons

small pool, pool area a little dismal, carnival bar a bit lacking in atmosphere

fantastic island

I stayed in tropical escape last year with my daughter to treat myself for my 50th birthday. I had always wanted to go and thought it would be a lovely treat. Which it was! Barbados is absolutely stunning, the beaches are fabulous, the people are great, you couldn't ask for more from a holiday destination. The hotel wasn't the most luxurious in the world, but it was located on one of the best beaches on the island, near some of the best restaurants in the world, so why would I complain. All in all, a fantastic place. GO!!
