Detailed review
We stayed there in April and it was really quiet. The service was excellent and the large room was wonderful with beautiful dark wood and a fantastic terrace. The hotel has all the amenities that you would expect from this class of hotel. The gardens are beautiful and the swimming pools top class (especially the one with the music piped underwater)!

Sofitel Hua Hin is a unique Thai style resort comprising low-rise building and beachfront villas. All rooms are decorated in ancient Thai styles. Hotel is located on a popular location of Hua-Hin surrounded by shops and restaurants (Italian, French, Thai, seafood). The room, service and quality is of good standard.

Only an hour out of Bankok by car (it will take you an hour just to get out of Bangkok!) The hotel was previously the old train station in Hua Hin - not just any old train station but the king's own private station! This gives you an idea of how special this hotel is - old fashioned Thai / colonial buildings in rich wood - sumptuously decorated - old fashioned, yet with all modern amenities. The gardens are exquisite, with exotic topiary carved in elephant shapes and train shapes. The pool and beach are excellent. Service is impeccable. Try High Tea in one of the 2-3 tea rooms before relaxing with a gin & tonic for sundown - then you'll know how the king of Siam felt when his train arrived here...
Oozing charm and character
