I have stayed at the Mercure Ariatel many, many times. The hotel is one of the better hotels in Kourou. The hotel is arranged so it appears as a group pf bungalows, all identical. Each room has its own little entrance patio, which is quite nice to sit with friends in the evening. The problem with identical bungalows is that after a night on the town and a few cocktails it can be quite difficult to find "your" bungalow. Rooms are clean and fairly comfortable with a little sitting room/kitchen with TV, and a bathroom with a shower. Mildew can be a problem, as in any equatorial location. Pool is nice. Restaurant is OK, but pricely for what it is. Mosquitos have to be experienced to be believed. Odd opening hours for the bar.
