Detailed review
Considering ABode's credentials (part of 2 Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines' chain), I had expected true luxury from this new 'boutique' hotel in Manchester. Upon our arrival, we were greeted at a tiny check-in desk by a pleasant lady who, rather indiscretely, announced the cost of our stay no less than three times (in front of my partner whom I had taken there for our anniversary). She went on to loudly do it again whilst processing my card payment, stating "that's 1-1-9-pounds". How embarrassing. The room was loft-style (verging on bare) with poor attention to detail (the kettle flex wasn't long enough to reach the socket and so had to be placed on the floor for use). The following morning, our breakfast was mis-served and although the haddock was beautifully poached, the poached egg was stone cold in the center. Thoroughly disappointing.

Indiscrete lobby staff, no attention to detail.
