The visit
Le Meridien Ile Maurice opened 8 years ago as the Radisson Plaza Beach Resort. Since 2003, the hotel has been taken over by Le Meridien (Starwood Hotels) and has been refurbished, extended and undergone a complete identity change; spacious and classy in a great setting. Relaxing but at the same time no risk of getting bored.
Location
Le Meridien Ile Maurice is located on the North West Coast of the island; between the lively resort of Grand Baie (ca. 20 minute drive) and the capital Port Louis (half an hour drive). The transfer time from the airport is about one hour.
Atmoshpere
Dark wood and warm colours in combination with the thoughtful, mood illumination create an atmosphere throughout the hotel… from the spacious lobby to the rooms and the restaurants…
Rooms
There are two different types of rooms: suites with either a garden or sea view or suites elevated on stilts looking out over the lagoon. In every suite you will find a mixture of warm colours, exotic wood, marble and a terrace which protects your privacy.
Beach
All along Le Meridien Ile Maurice, you will find an extensive beach where you can (but don’t have to) participate in activities.

Relaxing:
at the Asian inspired spa, specialized in ayurvedic massages. The sauna, steam bath and Jacuzzi are free of charge.
Activities:
At the boathouse of Le Meridien Ile Maurice all non-motorised water sports are free of charge, including water ski, windsurf, laser sailing, etc. There is a diving center, tennis court, an open air chess game, a beach volleyball court, a fitness center, yoga and aqua gym classes.

Personel is doing his best to make your stay enjoyable with the Mauritian smile. To point out is the fact that many employees have been working in Le Meridien for years.
Food
With a half board package at Le Meridien Ile Maurice you can choose between four different restaurants without supplement:
- Every evening a different theme buffet with live cooking stations at 180˚, the main restaurant.
- Mediterranean food at restaurant La Faya,
- Indian flavors at Cumin
- Sea food at Shells, right on the beach.

Le Meridien Ile Maurice proposes a “hotel within a hotel” with its Nirvana wing, aimed at Honeymooners and couples (it becomes a “kids-free” zone as of December 01st 2006).

Children from 4 to 12 are entertained at the Penguin Club inside Le Meridien Ile Maurice, which is open until 21h45. The rooms in the main building accommodate children below the age of 12 years at no extra charge.
