They claim to be 4-star... They don't deserve to have a single star! Rooms are mediocre, EVERYTHING is charged for, and at very high prices. The staff are rude and impolite, which is strange as the people of Rodrigues are so nice. Food was terrible. Mattresses were shod. DON'T GO THERE!!!

I was a bit disappointed. I was looking for something great, may be next time…

I always spent wonderful time there. As a repeated guess I always being treated as I expected.
Rodrigues is today and forever. Wish and hope it will stay always the same. The staff Hans, Armand and others are fabulous and very competent and gentle. Always ready to help and to satisfy. They are precious stones for Pte Venus.

Where do I start! This hotel is by far the worst run hotel I have ever been to. Before I get on to the poor management, the hotel is in a dreadful location nowhere near a decent beach so you need to take a taxi for at least 20 mins in order to get to one. It is in fact located in a grubby, run-down part of the main town.
This would have been acceptable if it was well managed. But it wasn't. The food was disgusting and consisted of a buffet of over-cooked stews, which were usually swarming with either ants or birds, or both. The bird problem was a particular nuisance as they had actually nested in the roof, which meant there were constantly flocks of little birds patrolling the dining area for food. And of course this means there are bird droppings EVERYWHERE. This is compounded by the fact that they never seem to clean the place or replace any of the linen on the tables.
The overall service was simply appalling. Nothing every gets done and the place is run by the most lazy and idle people I have ever come across.
Thankfully my family and I happened to come across a much better hotel which was a 3-star called Cotton Bay. This was infinitely better in every way and after 2 nights at Pointe Venus we gave up and relocated here. Had we not managed to get in there I can safely it would have been the most miserable holiday I have ever had. We were so desperate to get away from Pointe Venus that we simply left, despite the fact we had already paid for 6 more nights! Upon checking out, they did not even question our premature departure and the man at the front desk simply said "bye" whilst he was on the phone.
Please avoid this hotel at all costs!! I have never been so disappointed.

Poor service, dirty, terrible location, lazy staff, infested by birds, horrible food

I went to Hotel Pointe Venus with 2 friends.. We had a GREAT stay there. Killer views.. I think you can't get a hotel with better views on the sea. Pointe Venus is atop a hill.

The room was neat and cosy. Wonderful balcony. I liked having breakfast there.


The restaurant was also very very nice. It was next to the swimming pool. Great view there also. Got all the local food we were looking for from there.

The Spa was also wonderful. Great service. As usual, in Rodrigues, people are so nice and friendly.

If you like having crowded hotels to meet people and staff constantly trying to sell you holiday activities, then Pointe Venus is not for you

Our weekend here began well, any hotel in Rodrigues that is not on the beach is at a disadvantage but it did have spectacular views on the ocean.
A lovely, spacious family room was spoiled by the fact that the floors were in need of a good sweeping and the soft furnishings were dusty to the point of being unpleasant to sleep in.
The staff were for the most part welcoming but we had an unfortunate incident with one receptionist who chose to ignore us completely after we accepted a hire car arranged by ourselves over one that she had arranged for us simply because it had arrived.
All in all, we didn't feel that it was an ideal hotel for families but probably better suited to business travellers.
