Park Inn Island

We went to Reykjavik for the weekend and stayed at the Park Inn Island. It is located in the Reykjavik's new business district so not right in the centre and is a good 15-20 mins walk into the centre. This is probably the only negative, if you want to experience the nightlife etc, you should expect a bit of walking or taxis. But the hotel is near the local outdoor geothermal swimming pool, which hotel guests can use for free. This is definitely worth it, mix with the locals for a proper Icelandic experience, but expect compulsory naked showers! Also, we found all the organised tours pick you up and return you to the hotel for free. Generally the hotel is nice and friendly, helpful staff, a clean and modern hotel, warm comfortable rooms, bath robes provided, good bathrooms, great breakfast... can't fault it really.
