Detailed review
My hubby & me stayed at the Claddan when we were trying to agree on where to have our wedding. We had arranged to stay in advance as we were traveling up from Newcastle. The staff were amazing. They had local info prepared for us. They were really friendly and had contacted the venue which we were viewing to confirm we were coming on our behalf. They couldn't have been better. The rooms were really basic but very clean and comfy. We were in hysterics as we had an appointment to keep but the bath water pressure was so low it took over an hour to fill the bath. Possibly not the best advert but it was freezing cold mid winter and those are the things we still talk about now. They had entertainment on in the evening with a neil diamond impersonator who sounded more like my mum in the bath but all the locals seemed to come in regularly and they loved it. They all seemed to know each other and it was very homely. The room was cleaned meticulously and tea and coffee were provided. The rooms were extremely inexpensive which was exactly what we needed. The parking was directly in front of the hotel with night staff on the desk. Everything was local, we visited Edinburgh, which was about a 40 minute drive away. The food was fantastic. Breakfast was included in the room price and there was loads of it.. When we left to come home, the staff were very helpful. We would definitely recommend this hotel to people on a limited budget who are more interested in enjoying a break than for any kind of luxury accommodation. We had intended going back on our first wedding anniversary but since then we've had two children so we are all hoping to go this September and visit some family and friends while were there.
