Best of Old and new combined

The Henry Jones Art Hotel has the best of both worlds, situated on the harbour in the centre of Hobart. It is a modern 5 star hotel in the old IXL jam factory building. Many of the original features of the factory have been retained, including the old sandstone walls and huge timber beams across the ceiling. All the rooms have king size beds and a stunning glass bathroom that includes a spa.

My room had views across hobart and the harbour up to the mountain with snow on top.
Every room also includes paintings by some of Australia's top indigenous artists like Minnie Pwerle.

Downstairs there is a bar, a restaurant and a cafe as well as several retail shops. It may have cost a bit more to stay there but I think it was worth it.

It is a sofisticated hotel that wouldn't be out of place in Melbourne or Sydney.
