This hotel was right in the middle of the fun part of Shinjuku, where all the businessmen head to once the clock hits five. It's in the heart of Neon Tokyo, so the area looked like something straight out of a sci-fi anime. The hotel is close to restaurants, karaoke places, sushi joints and for the more adventurous: host clubs! There were nearby 24hr gaming centres, manga cafe's and a baseball centre, should you ever feel the urge to whack balls at 4am, and surprisingly, many people do! The hotel serves tradiotional Japanese breakfast including rice balls and miso soup, where I mastered my chopstick skills. My highlight was the vending machines in the lobby selling strangely named drinks such as Pocari Sweat. It was amusing trying them out but they never tasted anything like you would think, Grape Fanta certainly didn't taste like grape. Cute, kitsch and entertaining, perfect for any traveller who wants to experience the delights of Japanese culture.
ProsPolite staff, who always greeted you even when you pop downstairs to check your emails.
