Detailed review
We stayed at the Millenium in June which is off season for Lake Taupo and had the place mostly to ourselves. The Queen Deluxe rooms with lake views are ideal because they are one floor up and don't allow passerbys on the lake front walk path to peer into your room but have lovely views of the lake and birds. The Grotto - a private heated plunge pool - was a must do. Simply ask at the front desk to reserve your time in the pool. Rooms are well appointed the hotel restaurant was actually very good. The only downside was highway traffic noise that some of the wings of the hotels are exposed to.
Well appointed rooms Lake views The Grotto pool Bird life!
Road noise Ground floor rooms too exposed

Comment this hotel review
The main attraction about this hotel is its position on the shores of Lake Taupo. We had a room with a terrace overlooking the lake which was great for sitting out on sipping bubbly and watching the world go by.Room was large and very comfortable with a good range of ameneties in the Hotel.
