The Tishka is designed to resemble a casbah or walled city. Its facade is tall and imposing without a clue as to what's inside. I loved the interior style; like a 1930's movie set, exotic but restrained and elegant. My bathroom was carved out of marble like a Turkish bathhouse- a little cool in January but ideal in hot weather. Like all the rooms, mine overlooked the pool. I liked that. In this hotel, every view is beautiful, with the Atlas mountains as a backdrop.
The little restaurant in the Tishka is a jewel, the walls, floor and seats all lavishly tiled with Moorish decoration: a lovely surprise and another special place to visit in the hotel.
Every meal seemed to include little local oranges, a luscious variety, and lunch on fine days - all the roasted red peppers and couscous I could eat, heaven - may be taken beside the swimming pool.
This pool seems to feature on the cover of any travel brochure it appears in - there's a white minaret at the far end and always a couple of birds flying about the dome. It's incredibly romantic and I didn't want to leave.
